I have always liked bright vibrant colors. I see pictures in my minds’ eye that I want to create and these pictures have bright and unusual shapes, sized and colors. I also like things that come from faraway. That is the main reason I choose exotic hardwoods.
Season the cutting board. Any type of wood needs to be seasoned to prevent staining and to keep food odors and bacteria from developing on the surface. Use an oil that can be repeatedly applied, such as mineral oil.
